What this tool is for
- Teachers writing specific, kind feedback on a student's paragraph
- Turning rough notes into a ready-to-send email
- Pulling decisions and action items out of meeting notes
| What it does | Writes and rewrites text with an AI language model: three task modes - feedback on student writing, a professional email from rough notes, and a summary of meeting notes - plus eight everyday edits. |
|---|---|
| Accepted input | The text you paste (up to 12,000 characters) and a mode. Task modes add their own options: student level, focus, tone, assignment and rubric for feedback; purpose, recipient, tone and length for an email; full minutes, action items only or a recap email for meetings. Everyday modes: Rewrite & improve, Fix grammar & spelling, Make it formal, Make it casual, Summarize, Expand, Convert to bullet points, Translate to English. |
| What you get back | The finished text, to copy, download, or edit further in another mode. |
| Limits | Capped at 5 runs per day for this tool. |
| Browser requirements | An internet connection. This tool does not work offline. |
A worked example
- Input
- Meeting notes: "launch moved to 14 Nov ... Ali will fix checkout bug by Friday ... budget 2000 USD approved ... nobody owns the newsletter yet", mode Summarize meeting notes, Full minutes.
- What comes back
- A summary, the two decisions, the action items as "Ali - fix checkout bug - Friday", and "Who will own the email newsletter?" under Open questions.
- Worth knowing
- Your text is sent to an AI provider - do not paste client data, contracts, personal information or anything under NDA, and leave students' full names out of their work. The prompts tell the model not to invent names, dates or numbers and to leave gaps as [placeholders], but models can still change meaning. Read the output against your original before sending it.
If it does not work
The result has [square brackets] in it
That is deliberate: the notes did not say who, when or how much, so the model left a placeholder instead of guessing. Fill it in before sending.
The feedback gives no grade
Feedback mode is told not to mark. Add a rubric to get a met / partly met / not yet line for each criterion.
The rewrite changed a fact
Language models rephrase rather than verify. Check names, numbers, dates and any conditional wording.
Nothing happens when I click
Either the text box is empty, or you have used your 5 runs for this tool today.
The response is cut off
The input was very long. Break it into sections and run them separately.

When to use Writing Assistant
Feedback on a student's writing
Paste a paragraph or essay and get feedback a teacher can hand back: two or three strengths quoting the student, the priorities to fix with a better version, and one next step - pitched at primary, middle, high school, university or ESL level.
A professional email from rough notes
Type what you need to say in shorthand, pick the purpose (request, follow-up, apology, saying no...), who it is for and the tone, and get a subject line and a ready-to-send email.
Minutes and action items from a meeting
Paste notes or a transcript to get a summary, decisions, action items with owners and dates, and open questions - or just the action list, or a recap email to send round.
Tightening a draft or fixing grammar
Rewrite & improve shortens and clarifies; Fix grammar & spelling corrects errors and changes nothing else.
Changing the register
Make it formal or Make it casual adjusts the same message for a client or a colleague.
The modes, explained
Pick a mode; the three task modes show their own options. Every mode tells the model to use only the facts in your text:
- Give feedback on student writing
- Options: student level, focus (everything, ideas, structure, grammar, vocabulary), tone (encouraging, balanced, direct), assignment and rubric. Output: What works well, What to work on, Against the criteria (when you give a rubric) and Your next step. No grade is given.
- Write a professional email
- Options: purpose, who it is sent to, tone and length. Output: a Subject line and the email, ending with [Your name]. Missing details become [placeholders].
- Summarize meeting notes
- Options: full minutes, action items only, or a recap email; plus an optional meeting name. Actions come out as owner - task - due date, with "owner not stated" or "no date given" where the notes are silent.
- Rewrite & improve / Fix grammar & spelling
- Clean up wording, or only correct errors.
- Make it formal / Make it casual
- Change the tone.
- Summarize / Expand / Bullet points
- Shorten, lengthen, or reformat as a list.
- Translate to English
- Turn text in another language into English.
- Try an example / Edit this further
- Try an example fills in a sample for the chosen mode. Edit this further puts the result back in the box to run another mode on it.
What it cannot do
- The model can change meaning while rewriting, especially numbers, names, dates and conditions. Read the output against your original before sending it.
- Feedback is a starting point, not a mark. It does not know your class, the lesson or the student - check it against what you taught.
- It does not know facts about you, your company or your client. Anything specific must be in the text you paste; otherwise it is left as a [placeholder].
- Do not paste client data, contracts, personal information or anything under NDA, and remove students' full names.
- Up to 12,000 characters per run. The free allowance is 5 runs per day for this tool, counted in your browser and reset at midnight UTC.
How it compares with the alternatives
Grammar checkers built into word processors and email apps work inside the document as you type, and full AI assistants can hold a conversation about your draft. If you write a lot, one of those fits into your workflow better.
This tool is a quick one-off transformation with no account, useful when you want a single rewrite rather than an ongoing assistant.
Your text is sent to taimurtools.com/api.php and on to the AI provider named in the data panel on this page when you click the run button. Nothing is sent before that. The why client-side page lists every tool that sends data off your device.
Getting a better result
Give the rubric
For student feedback, pasting the success criteria gets you a line per criterion and feedback that matches what you asked for.
Write notes, not a draft
For emails, shorthand works: "order late, supplier, new date tues, sorry, 10% off". The tone and structure come from the options.
Name owners in your notes
Meeting summaries only assign an action to someone if the notes say who; otherwise you get "owner not stated".
Check numbers and names
These are the details models most often change.
