Runs on your device
Your file is opened and processed by JavaScript inside this page. It is never uploaded and we never receive it. The page does download the processing library it needs from a public CDN the first time you use it - that request carries no part of your file.
Free tier: 5 runs per day for this tool, counted in your browser. The counter resets at midnight UTC and is not shared between browsers or devices.

A worked example
- Input
- A .xlsx price list with 6 columns and 40 rows, Landscape.
- What comes back
- A PDF showing the 6 columns and 40 rows as a clean table across the pages it needs.
- Worth knowing
- Values are rendered, not the workbook's appearance. Cell fills, conditional formatting, charts, images, merged cells and formulas-as-formulas do not come across - you get the computed values in a plain table.
If it does not work
Columns run off the page
Switch to Landscape, or cut columns before converting - there is no automatic scale-to-fit.
Only the first sheet converted
The tool renders the first sheet of the workbook. Move the sheet you want to the front, or save it as its own file.
Colours and charts are missing
Only cell values are rendered. Formatting and embedded objects are not.
Dates look like numbers
The cell is stored as a serial number with no date format the reader recognises. Format it as a date in the spreadsheet first.
Nothing happens when you run it
You may have used your 5 free runs of this tool for today. The page shows a "Daily limit reached" notice; the counter resets at midnight UTC.

When to use Excel to PDF
Sending a price list or schedule
A PDF table opens on any device and cannot be edited by accident, unlike a spreadsheet attachment.
Printing a table cleanly
Turn a sheet into a fixed document for printing or a meeting pack.
Attaching data to a report
Add the table to a report bundle and merge it with the rest of the PDF.
Sharing with people who do not have Excel
Anyone can open a PDF; not everyone has a spreadsheet program.
The options, explained
Excel to PDF reads the spreadsheet with SheetJS and lays the cell values out as a table in a PDF, all in your browser:
- File types
- .xlsx, .xls or .csv.
- Orientation
- Landscape for wide tables, Portrait for narrow ones. There is no automatic scale-to-fit, so choose the one that fits your columns.
- Which sheet
- The first sheet of the workbook. Move the sheet you want to the front, or save it as its own file.
- What you get
- The computed values in a plain table across as many pages as it needs.
What it cannot do
- It renders values, not appearance. Cell colours, conditional formatting, charts, images and merged cells do not come across.
- Formulas appear as their results, not as formulas.
- Wide tables can run off the page; there is no scale-to-fit. Use Landscape or remove columns before converting.
- The free allowance is 5 runs per day for this tool, counted in your browser and reset at midnight UTC.
How it compares with the alternatives
Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice can export to PDF with your formatting, fit-to-page scaling and print areas. If presentation matters, export from the spreadsheet program.
This tool is the quick option when you just need the numbers in a fixed, readable table and do not have a spreadsheet program to hand. The file is read in your browser and not uploaded.
How in-browser processing works, and exactly which tools are the exception, is explained on the why client-side page.
Getting a better result
Format dates as dates
A date stored as a plain number comes out as a number. Format it in the spreadsheet first.
Remove columns you do not need
Fewer columns fit the page without being cut off.
Put the right sheet first
Only the first sheet is converted.
Use CSV for very simple data
It converts the same way and avoids formatting surprises.
