Runs on your device
Your file is opened and processed by JavaScript inside this page. It is never uploaded and we never receive it. The page does download the processing library it needs from a public CDN the first time you use it - that request carries no part of your file.
Free tier: 5 runs per day for this tool, counted in your browser. The counter resets at midnight UTC and is not shared between browsers or devices.
How TaimurTools handles data · Why most of these tools run on your device
What this tool is for
- A WhatsApp code on a poster or shop counter that opens a chat with your message already typed
- A Wi-Fi code guests can scan instead of typing a password
- A contact card on a business card, poster or email signature
| What it does | Builds a real, scannable QR code in the page - for a link or text, a WhatsApp chat, a Wi-Fi network, a contact card, an email or a UPI payment - and hands it back as a PNG or a vector SVG. |
|---|---|
| Accepted input | One tab per kind of code: a link or text; a WhatsApp number with country code and an optional pre-typed message; a Wi-Fi network name, security type and password; contact details (name, phone, email, company, job title, website, address); an email address with an optional subject and message; or a UPI ID with an optional amount. An error-correction level from L to H. |
| What you get back | A QR code on screen with a line saying what scanning it will do, the exact text inside the code, and downloads as PNG or vector SVG named after the content (for example qr-whatsapp-923001234567.png). |
| Limits | Capped at 5 runs per day for this tool, counted in your browser and reset at midnight UTC. A QR code holds a limited amount of data, and higher error correction holds less - if your content does not fit, the tool says so instead of producing a code that cannot be read. |
| Browser requirements | Any current desktop or mobile browser with JavaScript enabled. |
A worked example
- Input
- WhatsApp, number +92 300 1234567, message "Hi, is this still available?", error correction M.
- What comes back
- A code containing https://wa.me/923001234567?text=Hi%2C%20is%20this%20still%20available%3F. Scanning opens a WhatsApp chat with that number and the message typed in, ready to send.
- Worth knowing
- A Wi-Fi QR code contains the password in plain text, and a WhatsApp or contact code contains your phone number. Anyone who scans or photographs it can read them - display them only where you are happy for that to be public.
If it does not work
"Add the country code and drop the first 0"
WhatsApp links need the international number. In Pakistan 0300 1234567 becomes +92 300 1234567; in the UK 07700 900123 becomes +44 7700 900123.
The Wi-Fi code scans but the phone will not join
Check the security type matches the router - WPA covers WPA2 and WPA3, WEP is for old networks, and Open means no password. WPA passwords are at least 8 characters, and the tool checks that.
My Wi-Fi password has a semicolon, comma or backslash in it
That is handled. Those characters are delimiters inside a Wi-Fi QR code, and this tool escapes them, which is why a password containing them still works here.
"That is too much data for one QR code"
Shorten the content or lower the error correction level. H reserves about a third of the code for recovery data, so it holds much less than L.
The printed code will not scan
Print it larger, keep the white border around it, and regenerate at error correction Q or H. Use the SVG download for print - a scaled-up PNG goes soft at the edges.
An older phone cannot read the UPI code
UPI codes are read by Indian banking apps. A generic camera app may not recognise the format.
How to use QR Code Generator
- Pick what the code is forClick a tab: Link or text, WhatsApp, Wi-Fi, Contact card, Email or UPI. Each shows only the fields it needs.
- Fill in the detailsWhatsApp needs the number with its country code (0300 1234567 in Pakistan becomes +92 300 1234567). Wi-Fi needs the network name, security type and password. A contact card needs at least a name.
- Choose error correction, then generateM suits a screen. Use Q or H for anything printed and handled, so it still scans when scuffed.
- Check it, then downloadRead the line under the code that says what scanning does, scan it with your own phone, then download PNG for screens or SVG for print.
When to use QR Code Generator
A WhatsApp chat button for print
Put a WhatsApp code on a poster, flyer, shop counter or product label. Scanning opens a chat with your number, with a message such as "Hi, I would like to order" already typed.
A Wi-Fi code for guests
Print a code on a table card or by the door so visitors join your network with their camera, without typing a password.
A contact card for business cards and signatures
Scanning a contact code offers to save your name, number, email, company and address to the phone in one step.
Pre-filled emails
An email code opens a message to you with the subject and text already filled in, useful for feedback, bookings or support.
Taking UPI payments
Generate a code for your UPI ID, optionally with a fixed amount, so customers pay without reading out an ID.
Linking print to the web
A code on a flyer or poster sends people to a page without typing a URL.
The settings, explained
QR Code Generator builds the code in your browser. Pick a tab for the kind of code; each tab shows only the fields it needs and says what scanning will do:
- Link or text
- A URL or any short text. A link starting with www. gets https:// added so phones open it.
- Your number with country code and an optional message. The tool removes spaces, dashes and the leading + or 00, and stops you if the number starts with a local 0 or has the wrong number of digits.
- Wi-Fi
- Network name, security type and password, plus a hidden-network option. Phones offer to join the network when they scan it. The password box hides itself for open networks.
- Contact card
- At least a name, plus any phone, email, company, job title, website and address. Saved as a standard vCard 3.0.
- An address with an optional subject and message. Scanning opens the phone's mail app with the email ready to send.
- UPI
- Your UPI ID with an optional payee name, amount and note.
- Error correction (L to H)
- How much of the code can be damaged and still scan. M suits a screen; Q or H suits anything printed and handled. Higher levels hold less data.
- PNG or SVG
- PNG for screens and documents. SVG is vector, so it stays sharp at any print size. Files are named after the content.
What it cannot do
- A QR code holds a limited amount of data, and higher error correction holds less. If your content does not fit, the tool says so instead of producing a code that cannot be read.
- These are static codes. The content is fixed in the pattern, so you cannot change the destination later or count scans; that needs a dynamic QR service.
- A Wi-Fi code contains the password in plain text, and WhatsApp and contact codes contain your phone number. Anyone who scans or photographs them can read them.
- The free allowance is 5 runs per day for this tool, counted in your browser and reset at midnight UTC.
How it compares with the alternatives
Dynamic QR services let you change the destination after printing and show scan statistics, usually for a subscription. Use one if you are printing thousands of codes or need analytics.
This tool makes static codes that do not route through anyone's server, so they keep working regardless of any subscription. Everything happens in your browser.
How in-browser processing works, and exactly which tools are the exception, is explained on the why client-side page.
Getting a better result
Test before printing
Scan the code with two different phones before you print a batch.
Print it large enough
Small codes on busy backgrounds fail. Give it a quiet margin around the edges.
Use SVG for print
It stays sharp at any size.
Shorten long URLs
Less data means a simpler pattern that scans more easily.
More questions about QR Code Generator
How do I make a WhatsApp QR code?
Open the WhatsApp tab, type your number with the country code (+92 300 1234567, not 0300 1234567), add a message if you like, and generate.
Do the codes expire?
No. They are static and do not depend on any service.
Can I track how many people scan it?
No. Static codes cannot report scans.
Is my Wi-Fi password sent anywhere?
No. The code is built in your browser. But anyone who scans the code can read the password.
Which error-correction level should I use?
M for screens; Q or H for anything printed and likely to get scuffed.

Is anything sent to a server?
No. The code is drawn on a canvas in this page. Your Wi-Fi password, phone number, contact details and UPI ID never leave your device.
How does the WhatsApp QR code work?
It contains a wa.me link with your number and, if you add one, a message. Scanning opens WhatsApp on a chat with you with the message typed in; nothing is sent until the person taps Send.
Do names and messages in Urdu, Arabic or other scripts work?
Yes. Text is encoded as UTF-8, which is what phone scanners expect, so non-Latin names and emoji scan back exactly as typed.
Do these codes expire?
No. The data is encoded in the pattern itself, not stored anywhere, so there is nothing to expire and no redirect that can be switched off. Change the Wi-Fi password and the Wi-Fi code stops working - that is all.
Is it safe to print a Wi-Fi QR code?
It contains the password in readable form. Treat it the way you would treat the password written on a card: fine on a table in your own cafe, not fine in a public window. Use a guest network if you have one.
PNG or SVG?
PNG for screens, email and documents. SVG for anything printed - it is vector, so it stays sharp at any size, from a business card to a poster.
