Word to PDF reads your .docx with Mammoth.js, which converts the document's structure, and writes the PDF with jsPDF. Both run in your browser:
- What survives
- Text, headings, bold, italics and lists.
- What may not
- Exact fonts, page breaks, headers and footers, text boxes, floating images and complex tables. Mammoth converts structure, not exact layout.
- File types
- .docx only. Legacy .doc, .odt, .rtf and .pages must be saved as .docx first.
- File size
- There is no file-size cap; very large documents are limited by your device's memory.
What it cannot do
- It does not reproduce Word's layout exactly. Pagination is recalculated, so page breaks can land in different places.
- Headers, footers, text boxes and floating images are not carried across.
- It cannot open .doc files or password-protected documents.
