About HTML Converter

Convert an .html file into a PPTX deck or an MP4 video, locally in your browser. The file is processed on your device and never uploaded. Handy for turning a static export into a shareable slide deck or clip. Free, no signup.

Runs on your device

Your file is opened and processed by JavaScript inside this page. It is never uploaded and we never receive it. The page does download the processing library it needs from a public CDN the first time you use it - that request carries no part of your file.

Free tier: 5 runs per day for this tool, counted in your browser. The counter resets at midnight UTC and is not shared between browsers or devices.

What this tool is for

  • Turning an HTML report into a deck
  • Making a short screen-capture video of an animated HTML page
What it doesTakes a .html file, screenshots it with html2canvas, and turns it into either a PowerPoint deck (PptxGenJS) or an MP4 video (mp4-muxer) - in the page.
Accepted inputOne .html or .htm file.
What you get backA .pptx deck (16:9 or 4:3) or an MP4 video at one of the listed presets.
LimitsCapped at 5 runs per day for this tool. MP4: 3 to 60 seconds long, 15 to 60 frames per second, from 320x240 up to 3840x2160 (4K); the 4K preset is slow.
Browser requirementsA current desktop browser. MP4 export uses the browser's video encoder and is CPU-heavy.

A worked example

Input
A single self-contained .html page, output MP4, preset "Social 1080p", motion "Smooth scroll".
What comes back
A 1920x1080 30 fps MP4 that scrolls the page from top to bottom.
Worth knowing
html2canvas re-draws the page rather than using the real browser renderer, so external images, web fonts, iframes, videos and some CSS features may be missing or look different. External resources referenced by the HTML may not load at all. Self-contained pages work best.

If it does not work

Images or fonts are missing from the output

html2canvas cannot fetch cross-origin resources. Inline the images and fonts into the HTML file first.

The MP4 export fails or produces nothing

The browser's video encoder is not available or ran out of memory. Try a lower preset, or a different desktop browser.

4K takes minutes

Expected - every frame is drawn and encoded on your device.

The page looks different from the browser

The page is re-drawn by a JavaScript renderer, not by the browser engine. Complex CSS will not match exactly.

The animation looks choppy

In Play animation mode the page is captured as fast as your device can manage and the frames are spaced out to a steady rate, so a slower device gives rougher motion. Lower the resolution or frame rate, or close other tabs.

How to use HTML Converter

  1. Add your .html fileDrop the file onto the upload area, or click to pick it.
  2. Choose the outputPPTX, or MP4 Video.
  3. Set the presetSlide size for PPTX; resolution, frame rate and motion style for MP4.
  4. Convert and downloadClick Convert and save the result.

When to use HTML Converter

Turning an HTML report into a deck

If a dashboard or report exists as an HTML file, convert it into PowerPoint slides for a meeting.

Making a short video of an animated page

Capture an animated HTML page as an MP4 for social media or a demo.

Showing a web design as a video

Record a smooth scroll through a page design to share with a client.

The settings, explained

HTML Converter draws your .html file with html2canvas and turns the result into a PowerPoint deck (PptxGenJS) or an MP4 video (mp4-muxer), all in your browser:

PPTX
A deck in 16:9 or 4:3.
MP4 length and frame rate
3 to 60 seconds, at 15 to 60 frames per second.
MP4 resolution
From 320x240 up to 3840x2160 (4K). The 4K preset is slow because every frame is drawn and encoded on your device.
Motion style
For example a smooth scroll from top to bottom, or playing the page's own animation.

What it cannot do

  • html2canvas redraws the page rather than using the real browser renderer, so external images, web fonts, iframes, videos and some CSS features may be missing or look different.
  • Resources the HTML loads from other sites may not load at all. Self-contained pages work best.
  • MP4 export needs a current desktop browser with a video encoder and enough memory.
  • The free allowance is 5 runs per day for this tool, counted in your browser and reset at midnight UTC.

How it compares with the alternatives

Screen recorders such as OBS or the recorders built into Windows and macOS capture the real browser exactly, including fonts and video, and are better for most screen videos.

HTML Converter is for producing a clean, fixed-length video or a deck straight from a file, without recording your screen, and without uploading the file.

How in-browser processing works, and exactly which tools are the exception, is explained on the why client-side page.

Getting a better result

Inline images and fonts

Embed them in the HTML file so the renderer can draw them.

Start at 1080p

Only use 4K if you need it; it takes far longer.

Keep it short

A 10 to 20 second clip is usually enough for social media.

Use a desktop browser

Video encoding is heavy for a phone.

More questions about HTML Converter

Why are images missing?

They are loaded from another site. Inline them into the HTML file.

Why does 4K take so long?

Every frame is drawn and encoded on your device.

Is my file uploaded?

No. It is converted in your browser.

Why is the animation choppy?

In animation mode a slower device captures fewer frames. Lower the resolution or frame rate.

Frequently asked questions

Is my HTML uploaded?

No. It is rendered and encoded inside this page.

Why does my page look wrong in the output?

The renderer re-draws the page in JavaScript rather than using the browser's own engine, and it cannot load cross-origin images or fonts. Use a self-contained HTML file with inlined assets.

Does the MP4 have sound?

No. The output is silent.

How long can the MP4 be, and at what size?

Between 3 and 60 seconds, at 15 to 60 frames per second, from 320x240 up to 3840x2160 (4K). Presets cover 720p, 1080p at 30 or 60 fps, a vertical 1080x1920 reel, a 1080x1080 square and 4K.

Which motion styles can the video use?

Four. Play animation records the page's own CSS and JavaScript animation as it runs. Smooth scroll moves from the top of a long page to the bottom. Pan and slight zoom adds movement to a static poster. Static turns one still frame into a video.

Which browsers can make the MP4?

Ones with a built-in H.264 video encoder: current Chrome and Edge, Safari 16.4 or later and Firefox 130 or later. If yours cannot encode, the tool says so instead of failing silently.

Is there a limit?

Yes - 5 runs per day for this tool.
