Easy Grader – Printable Grading Chart
Enter how many questions a test has to get a grading chart with the percentage and letter grade for every possible score, ready to print and keep next to your marking pile. Check one paper by entering the number wrong or right, and edit the grade scale to match your school.
Built for grading a stack of papers
The fastest way to grade a pile of tests is not to calculate each one. Print the chart once, keep it beside the pile, count the wrong answers on each paper and read the percentage and letter straight off the sheet.
- Enter the number of questions (or the total points).
- Check the grade scale matches your school's, and edit it if not.
- Press Print chart. Only the chart and the test details print, in columns.
- Mark each paper, count the wrong answers, and look up the row.
For tests where questions carry different marks, switch to Points and choose a half- or quarter-point step if you give partial credit. If every question is worth the same, keep Questions mode and set the points per question, so a 20-question test worth 5 points each is charted out of 100.
Worked example
A 20-question quiz. A student gets 3 wrong, so 17 right.
The same rows from the chart:
| Wrong | Right | % | Grade |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 19 | 95 | A |
| 2 | 18 | 90 | A |
| 3 | 17 | 85 | B |
| 4 | 16 | 80 | B |
| 5 | 15 | 75 | C |
What this calculator does not do
- Charts are limited to 2,000 rows (for example 2,000 questions, or 1,000 points in half-point steps).
- The default letter scales are common examples, not your school's official policy - check and edit them.
- It does not store class results; use your gradebook for that.
