AI Website Development That Ships Real Features, Not Demos

We build Next.js websites and web apps with AI inside them: chat grounded in your content, search, recommendations, generation and document tools. For founders and ops teams in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and EU.

A free 30-minute strategy call, then a fixed-fee proposal. No retainer required to get a quote.

The problem

Why most "AI websites" disappoint

Adding AI to a website is easy to demo and hard to do well. The failures we see are architectural, not creative.

The AI feature is a third-party widget with someone else's branding and no access to your own data.
API keys sit in front-end JavaScript, so anyone who opens DevTools can run up your bill.
The site got slower: heavy client bundles, blocking model calls, no streaming, no loading states.
Nobody planned for the model being slow, wrong or rate-limited, so the feature fails in public.
AI-assisted pages were never structured for crawlers, so the organic traffic never arrived.

Our approach

How we build AI into the site itself

Our own site is the reference build. taimurtools.com runs 50+ free browser-based tools for OCR, PDF work, image and video processing, AI writing, invoicing and lead enrichment, all built by the founder. Files are processed in the browser wherever possible, so a visitor's documents never leave their machine. When a feature needs a model, the request goes through a server-side proxy: the API key lives in an environment variable, the origin is checked, the call is rate-limited and logged, and the browser only sees the answer.

On that foundation we add the features that fit your business: chat grounded in your pages and documents through retrieval, so answers cite your content instead of guessing; semantic search across products or articles; recommendation blocks; document tools that parse, extract or convert; and generation with a review step, the pattern behind our AI Content Engine, a Next.js app that pulls industry news and drafts social posts into a review-and-publish queue. Every build is Next.js and React with TypeScript, server-rendered where pages need to rank and streaming where a model is answering.

What's included

  • Next.js / React build — TypeScript, Tailwind and server components, built as a fast site first and an AI product second.
  • Secure model proxy — Server-side route with keys in environment variables, origin checks, rate limits and per-call logging.
  • Retrieval layer — Your pages, PDFs and product data indexed so chat and search answer from your content with citations.
  • Client-side processing — Image, PDF and text tools that run in the browser when no model is needed, so private files stay private.
  • SEO-ready architecture — Server-rendered routes, metadata, structured data and sitemaps so AI features and rankings coexist.
  • Failure handling — Timeouts, retries, cached fallbacks and a human contact path for when the model is slow or wrong.

Process

How we work

Discovery call

A free 30-minute call on what the site must do, what data it can use and what a fixed-fee proposal covers.

Spec and design

Wireframes plus a technical spec: model per feature, where data lives, proxy design, fallbacks. You sign off before code.

Build in sprints

Two-week sprints with a Loom walkthrough at the end of each, deployed to a staging URL you can click through.

Launch and harden

Key rotation, rate limits, monitoring and a handover doc, then support while real traffic tests the features.

Benefits

What you get from it

Keys never reach the browser

Model access runs server-side, so your API budget cannot be drained from DevTools.

Answers from your data

Chat and search are grounded in your own content, not a generic model's guess about your business.

Fast pages, still

AI features stream and load lazily, so the rest of the site stays quick for visitors and crawlers.

Spend you can predict

Per-feature quotas, caching and model tiering keep usage costs inside a known range.

Fit

Who this is for

  • SaaS founders adding AI features to a site or product without hiring an ML team
  • Ecommerce brands that want AI search, recommendations or description generation on-site
  • Consultancies and agencies offering document tools or intake assistants to their clients
  • Service businesses replacing a static brochure site with one that answers questions

Common use cases

Knowledge chat

A chat panel that answers from your docs, policies and product pages, with links to the source.

Semantic search

Search that understands intent across catalogs, help centers or archives, not just keyword matches.

On-site document tools

OCR, PDF parsing, extraction and conversion running in the visitor's browser, as on taimurtools.com.

Content generation with review

Drafts for product descriptions or posts that land in a queue for a human to approve and publish.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where do the API keys live, and can visitors see them?
No. The site calls a server-side route we control; that route holds the key in an environment variable, checks the request origin, applies a rate limit and forwards the request to the provider. The browser receives the answer and nothing else, which is exactly how the tools on taimurtools.com work. Rotating a key is a one-place change with no front-end redeploy.
Which model will my site use: OpenAI, Gemini or something else?
Whichever fits each feature, not one model for the whole site: a small, fast model for classification or search re-ranking, a stronger one for long drafts, Groq-hosted open-weight models when latency matters, Gemini when large documents or images are involved. Because the proxy abstracts the provider, swapping later is a configuration change. The spec names a starting mix, and usage data decides later changes.
What does an AI website cost, and who pays for API usage?
Development is a fixed fee quoted after the free strategy call, based on the features and integrations in the spec. API usage is separate and billed by the provider to an account in your name, so you see every charge. We design for predictable spend with cached responses, per-visitor quotas and cheaper models for routine calls, and estimate cost per thousand interactions before launch.
What happens when the model gives a wrong answer on my site?
We plan for it. Answers are grounded in your content and shown with source links so visitors can check them. Pricing, legal and similar claims come from approved text, never generation. Every response is logged, low-confidence outputs are flagged, and a human contact path sits one click away. If the provider is down, the feature degrades to search or a form, not an error screen.
Will AI features slow the site down or hurt SEO?
Not when the architecture is right. Marketing and product pages are server-rendered or statically generated, so crawlers get full HTML and visitors get a fast first paint. AI components load after the page and stream their output. Metadata, structured data and sitemaps are generated alongside the routes, and any generated content passes through review before it is published or indexed.
Who owns the code, where is it hosted, and what support is included?
You own the repository, prompts, retrieval index and configuration from day one. We deploy to hosting in your account, typically a Node-friendly platform for Next.js, with environment variables set there. Handover includes documentation and Loom walkthroughs. After launch you can choose project-based fixes or a monthly retainer covering monitoring, model updates and new features. Nothing is locked to us.
