Electricity Bill & Units Calculator Pakistan
Enter your units, your two meter readings or your appliances, then choose protected, unprotected or lifeline. You get the energy charge and fixed charge under the 2026 residential tariff (S.R.O. 279(I)/2026), the slab you land in and a warning when a few extra units push you into a dearer slab. Taxes and fuel adjustments come on top.
| Appliance | Watts | Hours a day | How many |
|---|
Fridges and freezers switch on and off, so enter roughly a third of the day (about 8 hours). Inverter ACs use less than their rated watts once the room is cool.
An estimate of the energy and fixed charges only. Your actual bill also adds fuel and quarterly adjustments, sales tax, electricity duty and other items, so it will be higher.

Worked example: 150 units
Protected, 1 kW load. Protected homes keep the benefit of the previous slab:
Unprotected, 2 kW load. All units are charged at the rate of the slab you land in:
Why one extra unit can cost so much
For unprotected homes the whole month is charged at the rate of the slab your total lands in. At 2 kW, 200 units cost 200 × 28.91 + 600 = Rs 6,382, but 201 units cost 201 × 33.10 + 700 = Rs 7,353.10 - almost a thousand rupees more for one unit.
Protected status matters even more: a home that uses 200 units or fewer in each of the last six months pays the much lower protected rates. Go over 200 units in one month and that month is billed at unprotected rates, and protected status is only regained after six months at or under 200.
Units from appliances
One unit is one kilowatt-hour: 1,000 watts for one hour. Units = watts × hours a day × days ÷ 1,000. A 1,500 W air conditioner for 8 hours a day for 30 days uses 1,500 × 8 × 30 ÷ 1,000 = 360 units.

- It estimates the energy and fixed charges only - not fuel or quarterly adjustments, sales tax, income tax, electricity duty or TV fee.
- It covers residential connections below 5 kW; time-of-use and commercial tariffs are different.
- Rates change when NEPRA notifies a new tariff; the date of the rates used is shown on this page.
- K-Electric customers in Karachi are billed by K-Electric; check your own bill for any differences.
